emi 2008E.M.I. (abbrev.) Easy Monthly Installment is a bittersweet satire that looks at modern day India in a mirthfully subjective way. It's an engaging pick on, the easy to get but taxing to hold, the ever changing credit economy. It's a narrative of interconnecting characters coming from different strata and style. A peek-a-boo into their lives of situations that they didn't anticipate. The people who indulge in spending without thinking and others who care to be optimistic about the future that they desire. This satire dwells into the lives of our protagonists and their stories.

Anil and Shilpa are a young couple in love, they are contemporary, hard working, ambitious and submerged in debts. They get married against their fears of compatibility, starting their life in a brand new house. For them it is just 40% more expensive to own per month than a rented one that too without any 11 month cycles of renewals. Love and desire see no boundaries as they choose to travel to the cheapest foreign location for their honey moon which comes at a small installment. Electronics, Car, and kitchenware add to their happy dreams in small steps of more installments. As the cost of love finds various expenses for a happy matrimony their world begins to crumble.

Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi 2008Nobility as a quality in cinema seems almost the hallmark of Sooraj Barjatya's cinema. Specially during these times of stress cynicism and violence, any film that doesn't belch out venomous fumes is worthy of applause.

But wait. Before we cheer "Ek Vivaah... Aisa Bhi" for walking the straight and narrow road, let's be warned. The route taken by the narration looks like a tepid and technically shoddy facsimile of Anil Ganguly's "Tapasya", which was produced by Barjatya, and more recently, the Barjatya-directed "Vivah" that won extra points for its elegant and fluent simplicity of narration.

Director Kaushik Ghatak takes us through Barjatya's joint-family system. Yes, even the infamous 'gaajar ka halwa' (sweet dish made out of shredded carrot) makes its mouth-watering appearance during the first wedding that rolls out at the start.

Golmaal Returns (2008)Golmaal Returns, the much-awaited follow-up of the uproariously comic smash-hit Golmaal, arrives with renewed star power, chartbusting music and more laughter than before!

Gopal (Ajay Devgan), who lives with his wife Ekta (Kareena Kapoor), sister Esha (Amrita Arora) and a dumb brother-in-law Lucky (Tusshar Kapoor), gets stuck in a yacht after saving an attractive woman Meera (Celina Jaitly) from some goons.

Both end up spending the night on the yacht and when he comes home the next day, his painfully suspicious wife, a hardcore fan of saas-bahu serials, smells fish.

Gopal knows it's going to be hard to quell her suspicion so he concocts a cock-and-bull story about having stayed the night with a fictitious friend called Anthony Gonsalves. Ekta refuses to buy his yarn and writes to Anthony (on a fictitious address given to her by Gopal) asking him to visit her.
